3 days into the job!

Taking a quick break from some work for a blog update...

The job is good. Crazy, but good. It will certainly take a lot out of me, but that is okay, because I am learning a lot & having a really great experience. Gaining many great skills. We work 8-5 everyday, so it is like a real job! As an intern at this consulting firm, I will help out a lot with several projects that the organization is working on. For instance, yesterday I was given a task regarding the reorganization of the benefits package for the Dominican Republic. It was all in Spanish and contained many complex medical terms. I worked on that for a bit. Today, I was told to update a timeline for a project on a Gantt chart, edit (more or less) a paper about capital investment planning in China, and there is something else, but I forget right now because I am tired. So, a lot at once. Add in the fact that I have to feed myself lunch and dinner everyday, in a new culture with a language I can't really speak, and you could say I am exceptionally overwhelmed. Thankfully, everyone is very kind and friendly, so that makes it less scary. Speaking of scary, crossing the streets here is a life-threatening experience. Cars don't stop, yield, nada for pedestrians. I have to cross two main roads to get to work, and it is nuts. Definitely different than the quaint college campus I am used to.

Also, I did zumba today, ran yesterday, and plan on doing zumba again tomorrow. I am quite sore. Yay, I'll be fit by the time I have to come home to the States! If I keep it up..

I'm excited for this weekend because I am going to Arenal! It is a volcano about 4 hours away from San Jose. Hostel is booked and everything! Yippee, adventures!

All for now, back to work! Then to bed.. zzzzzzz I'm tired!
