About me!

Hi! My name is Haley, and I am a Health Services major from Ohio. I also have minors in Mathematics, Business, and Spanish. I am a second-year student at Xavier University, and I love it! Go X!

This summer, I will be traveling to Costa Rica for two months as a Brueggeman Fellow. This blog is a documentation of my adventures, which will be hopefully both entertaining and insightful. The purpose of my trip is to gain a better understanding of universal healthcare policies and healthcare reform. I will be working with Sanigest Internacional in hopes of learning more about healthcare policy and how policy can be shaped in order to improve public health.

For more information on the Brueggeman Fellows program, please click on the link above. It is a truly life-changing opportunity--an enriching, one-of-a-kind blessing. Become a Fellow and never be the same!

I have certainly been blessed beyond belief during my time at Xavier. I can only hope and try my best to give back some of what has been given to me. As my journey unfolds, I hope to grow as a person and focus my time (and life in general) on the Lord. The motto of the Jesuits (Society of Jesus) is "ad majorem Dei gloriam," which means "For the greater glory of God." I hope that my experiences reflect that motto, and I allow it to persist in my life--Brueggeman adventures and beyond!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions! I can be reached at beaversh@xavier.edu. I can also be found on Instagram at haley_marie2417. ¡Pura vida!

Thanks!

- Haley
