I made it! Everything went as well as it could have possibly gone. My flights were EARLY. When are planes early?! I passed through security easily, made friends on the plane, getting through customs was a breeze, AND my luggage was the first one to come out in the baggage claims! Whoa, super blessed! The owner of the hostel I am staying at, Gabriel, is also really nice. He picked me up from the airport, and we attempted to have a conversation in Spanish on the way back to the hostel. It went okay.. If I wasn't running on ~3 hours of sleep, I might have a better vocab recall, but I think for the first taste of speaking Spanish here in Costa Rica, it wasn't half bad. He said I did well, anyways! If I can keep it up, I will be MUCH better by the end of my 2 months here!
San Jose seems like it is a very tiny city. It smells kind of strange--the pollution is really bad here. It is VERY hot, but it has been raining for the past 20 minutes or so and has cooled down considerably. My hostel is very nice! I will put up pictures on Facebook once I recover the willpower to move. So far, so good! If the rest of my trip is as pleasant as the past 12 hours have been, I may not come home. I have all day tomorrow to stock up on food, go to mass, and get ready for my first day on the job! Yay! Until then, I will feast on my Cliff bars (too rainy for me to walk to the store--plus I don't know how to get there) and sleep.
Until next time!

Glad to hear that you arrived safely and that everything is going well Haley. Keep up the good work, good to know that the first Spanish conversation was a success!
